Today, after reading a few blog posts, articles, and social media rants about how men are the reasons why women are insecure and why women have issues and why women have body issues, and why women have smelly vaginas, and all other kinds of preposterous projections of proverbial pestilence,
I decided to run an experiment on…
Because… you know… Personal Responsibility has to be established BEFORE you start looking for other people to project the blame on…
I sat down and meditated. Then I allowed myself to go as far back into my memory as I could access to determine the following:
How many men had ever said negative things directly to me, given me misinformation, or made incorrect claims about my body or my vagina or about being a woman?
Wanna know what that number was?
Well, how many women had ever said negative things directly to me, given me misinformation, or made incorrect claims about my body or my vagina or about being a woman?
Wanna know that number?
You’ll never know that number.
Wanna know why?
Because I don’t even know that number.
Because after I ran out of fingers and toes for the SECOND TIME,
I stopped counting.
And you know what?
Many of the women I have engaged with or have worked with on some level, when they were REALLY honest with themselves, admitted to having similar experiences, as well.
So what am I trying to say?
What am I saying is this:
A VAST MAJORITY of the misinformation that women receive about our bodies and how to take care of them
A VAST MAJORITY of the things we hear, as women, that cause us to develop insecurities about ourselves or low self esteem,
You don’t get to have it both ways.
You can’t say that you live in an Infinite Universe and that The Divine Feminine is all powerful and that Feminine Power is the strongest power (which is actually a distortion, but we’ll rock with it for now), and then in the same breath say that you are being held down by The Man.
You don’t get to do that.
Unless you begin to own FULL RESPONSIBILITY for YOUR self-esteem and YOUR feelings and YOUR life choices and YOUR transformation,
YOUR OWN VICTIM.
You really want to be empowered, Sis?🧜🏾♀️
Then own RESPONSIBILITY for ALL of your own experience!
Because that which I own responsibility for, I can control…
And if I can control it,
I can change it.
This, my Dear Beautiful Sister, is the REAL foundation, the REAL core of Women’s Empowerment.
🧜🏾♀️I Love You, Sis😘
